Shawna Marie Rowan Litaker Obituary

Ms. Shawna Marie Rowan Litaker, 48, died April 1, 2025, in Nashville.


Ms. Litaker was born May 9, 1976, in Louisville, Ky., and was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a fearless, strong and independent woman who embodied the essence of being a mother, daughter, sister and friend. She worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield for 18 years and at Kroger for eight years. She proudly attended Tennessee State University. She was an interior designer at heart who had a passion for music, fashion and family. She never met a stranger and was always available to help others. Her touch reached so far, beyond what we will ever know. She is preceded in death by mother Denise Rowan and sister Erika Rowan.


Funeral services will be Sunday, April 13, from noon-2 p.m. at Bennett-May and Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory. A repast will be hosted for immediate family and close friends.


Survivors include children, Gabrielle Litaker, Eboni Litaker, Marcellus Campbell, Mariah Campbell, all of Murfreesboro; grandson Rowen Hillsman of Murfreesboro; father Ralph E. Rowan and love (step) mother Valerie A. Rowan of Huntsville, Ala.; sister Crystal Rowan of Columbia; love (step) siblings, Tabarri McCullough, Kennan Wynn, Shakeina Wynn, all of Huntsville, Ala.; nieces and nephews, Erin Rowan, Brandon Black, Crishon Cross, all of Columbia; best friend of 37 years Shemecia Talley of Murfreesboro; special friend Timothy White of Elkton; and a host of others.
