Richard Earl Felker Obituary

Pulaski - Mr. Richard Earl Felker, 87, of Pulaski died March 29, 2026, at NHC, Pulaski.


Mr. Felker was born Sept. 23, 1938, in Minor Hill. He was a 1956 graduate of Minor Hill High School and a veteran of the United States Army. He worked in the corrugated packaging industry for many years and was a founder of Valley Packaging Corp. in Pulaski in 1984. He worked as the customer service manager until his semi-retirement in 2000 and continued working part-time until his forced retirement in 2018. In his spare time, he loved to travel with family and friends on cruises, trips to the mountains and beach. He was a faithful member of Wheelerton Baptist Church. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family, particularly his two grandsons. He is preceded in death by father Elijah Felker, mother Gertrude Jackson Black, father-in-law James McRee and mother-in-law Rena Mae McRee.


Funeral services were April 2 at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory with Paul Mason and Tom Suiter officiating. Burial was in Minor Hill Cemetery with full military honors.

Survivors include wife of 61 years Evelyn McRee Felker of Pulaski; daughters, Sylvia Harrison of Pulaski, Kimberly Harwell of Athens, Ala.; grandchildren, Jay Harrison, Eli Harwell; sister Faye (Larry) Carter of Elkmont, Ala.; sisters-in-law, Linda Oliver, Sandra McRee, Sandy Black; and special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
