Mr. Palmer "Red" Keathley, 81, of New Concord, Ky., died Aug. 12, 2025, at his home.
Mr. Keathley, known to many as "Red," was born June 19, 1944, in Galveston, Ky. He was a skilled butcher, first operating his own shop before later retiring from Kroger as a meat cutter. A talented carpenter, he enjoyed working with his hands and took pride in his craft. Above all, he will be remembered as a caring husband, devoted father and an even more adored "Papaw." He is preceded in death by parents, Robert and Myrtle Howell Keathley; beloved wife of 61 years Nancy J. Keathley, who passed just days prior; brother Robert "Junior" Keathley and sister Betty Keathley.
Celebration of Life services will be held at the family farm in Minor Hill Saturday, Sept. 20, from noon-4 p.m. Anyone wishing to attend is encouraged to reach out to the family.
Imes Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial donations may be made to the Benevolent Fund or Angel Community Fund at Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House.
Survivors include sons, Rick (Michele) Keathley of Minor Hill, Scott (Julie) Keathley of Camden, Mich., Ted (Stacey) Keathley of Lynchburg; grandchildren, Kimmy (Cameron) Hood, Nathan Kurtz, Mike (Miranda) Kurtz, Dustin (Cassey) Keathley, Chelsey (Matt) Hubbell, Candice Phillips; sister Nancy Lou Hammoud; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and special friends.
