Mr. Niles Scott Taber, 77, of Madison, Ind., died April 3, 2025, at his home.
Mr. Taber was born March 23, 1948, in Coldwater, Mich. He was raised in Litchfield, Mich., and graduated high school there in 1966. He worked for Ford Motor Company in Milan, Mich. for 35 years as a journeyman. On Aug. 7, 2007, he was united in marriage to his best friend and soul mate, Deborah Lynn Hammond Bowles. With this marriage, he gained two daughters, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He didn't believe in calling them his stepchildren because to him they were still his children. He was a jack of all trades. There was nothing he couldn't fix. He loved building model cars and model planes. He loved to fly his plane and go snowmobiling with his son, Niles Jr. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles. He loved his dogs and enjoyed rebuilding old cars. He had resided in Madison since 2008. He is preceded in death by father Donald Taber; mother Donelda Zimmer Taber Parks; and brothers, Donald Taber II and Billy Parks Jr.
Private family services will be held. Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial donations may be made to Amedysis Hospice, American Cancer Society, Parkinson's Foundation, Dementia Research, American Heart Association or the Humane Society.
Survivors include wife of 18 years Deborah Lynn Hammond Bowles Taber of Madison, Ind.; her daughters, Tina Spellings of Madison, Ind., Tonya Bowles of Salem, Ind.; his sons, Niles Taber Jr. and wife Chris of Onsted, Mich., Scott Taber of Reading, Mich.; his daughter Angel Love of Reading, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother Gary Taber and wife Debra of Pulaski; sisters, Carol Sprague and husband Dennis of Jackson, Mich., Rhonda Poore and husband Hank of Pulaski; seven nieces and 10 nephews.
