Eleanor Corinne Ciborowski Obituary
n/a, n/a - Mrs. Eleanor Corinne Burns Ciborowski, 99, died April 4, 2025.
Mrs. Ciborowski was born Sept. 20, 1925, almost 100 years ago, on a small family farm in Bodenham. Known by her family as Corinne, she was the middle child and was fortunate to grow up surrounded by her six siblings. A spunky teenager, she left home at 17 to join the war efforts, taking a job at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Ala., where she met her future husband Lt. Mitchell Ciborowski. As a military family, the couple moved to many different Army bases with their four children, finally settling in Bel Air, Md., where they lived for 50 years. While her primary job was nurturing her family, she also worked as an administrator at Bel Air High School and as a civil servant at Edgewood Arsenal. After retiring, the couple enjoyed playing bridge and traveling, with many escapades in Germany and throughout Europe. Though happy wherever she lived, she had always wanted to move back to Tennessee. When she was 80 and her husband was 90, they built a home high on the hillside overlooking the valley in which she was born. Active in her hometown community, she was a proud member of the Bodenham Community Club, as well as two local garden clubs. She was instrumental in securing a grant to build the Bodenham fitness trail, and she worked diligently to raise funds for the Bodenham Community Center. She was especially touched when the club's members named the adjacent garden "Corinne's Garden." An ardent gardener known for her beautiful flowers, she was a fiercely independent and adventurous woman who dearly loved her family and friends. She later moved back to Bel Air, Md., and then eventually to Colorado to live near her son. She is preceded in death by parents, Carroll and Myrtle Burns; husband Mitchell Ciborowski; children, Steven and Susan; and siblings, Carolyn, Catherine, Robert, Mary Ann, Miles and June.

Survivors include children, Linda and husband Richard, Philip and wife Jo Carol; grandchildren, Lilly and husband Will, Lauren and husband Ben, Ben, Delaney, Jennie and husband Pat, Susan and husband Panagotis; their mother Kerry; and three great-grandchildren.
