Mrs. Earlene Townsend Bassham, 88, of Minor Hill died March 4, 2025, at NHC, Pulaski.


Mrs. Bassham was born April 11, 1936, in Minor Hill. She had a love of growing flowers, doing crossword puzzles and collecting owls, but spending time with her grandchildren was her greatest pleasure. She is preceded in death by parents, Earl E. and Annie H. Townsend; husband of 63 years Douglas N. Bassham; brothers, Kenneth, Wilburn, Bradford, Ben, Tyson, H.E., Layfatte; and sisters, Mable, Pinkie and Enna B.


Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday, March 7, at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at noon Saturday, March 8, at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home. Burial will follow in New Salem Cemetery.


Survivors include daughter Cindy Emerson and husband Mack of Minor Hill; brothers, Joe Townsend and wife Carol of Anderson, Ala., Smitty Townsend of Minor Hill; sister Annie Hendrix and husband David of Minor Hill; grandchildren, Chase Emerson and wife Beth, Colby Emerson and wife Jenny; and great-grandchildren, Cally Emerson and Sawyer Emerson.
